Suggested Procedure for Changeover from 38 hr to 36 hr week

It is intended only as guide to setting-up the iPROsoft application software to achieve outcomes consistent with generally accepted accounting practice. Purpose

To assist clients who are required to change all or part of their payroll from a 38 hour week to a 36 hour week.

 

Assumptions

a. Productivity Leisure Days (PLD’s) are no longer required
b. Employer RDO contributions are no longer required
c. Employees are to work 40 hours, be paid for 36 and accrue 4 hours per week toward their RDO

 

Step 1 – Print a Leave Liability Report

Print R305 – Leave Liability Report. This will give you a record of any Employer RDO contribution or PLD accrual that you may need to move to RDO.

 
Step 2 - Update the Employee Details

Via E304 – Employee Details, check to ensure PLD applicable is No.

 
Step 3 - Z Parameters

Set the following Z Parameters as follows:

 

Step 4 – Update the Awards

Via E311 – Personnel Awards change hours in a normal working day to 7.2

 

Results

a. In E353 – Timesheet based payroll, there will now be a box which will prompt the user to enter the RDO accrual for each Job and Dissection.

Please Note : We are presently working on a modification to the payroll which will automate this. We are anticipating this modification will be available mid March. This modification will only be available in Version 2.7

b. PLD will no longer accrue
c. Employee RDO will accrue at 0.8 hrs per day rather than 0.4 hrs
d. In E1100 – Job Details and E1102 – Overhead Job Setup there is no longer a requirement to enter the following two fields and they will be greyed out.
